Our Story

Umar Nisar has long been passionate about sports and dedicated to working with athletes. From an early age, he developed a strong interest in the human body and its response to injuries. This fascination deepened as he observed his father undergo significant injuries and surgeries, prompting Umar to search for ways to alleviate his father’s discomfort.

Umar’s journey took a personal turn during his freshman year of college when he sustained a serious lower back injury while squatting. This challenging experience set him on a path to recovery, and it was a chiropractor who ultimately helped him regain his confidence and return to the gym.

The concept for Asylum began to form during Umar's final year of graduate school. With his last five dollars, he invested in a logo creator, officially bringing the name "Asylum" to life. Inspired by his own positive experience with chiropractic care, Umar envisioned Asylum as a sanctuary for individuals facing physical injuries, where they could find support, healing, and strength.
